The second panel developed new ideas, to move forward the European peace model and the European social model. The 21st century expects the European Union to be more for its citizens than a metaphor for key values such as peace and stability. The younger generation already takes these values for granted. Europe has to be ready to respond to everyday concerns as well as meet the global challenges.
