At a concluding press conference Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik also gave a positive summing up of the conference. She said it had been a down to earth event where concrete initiatives have been put forward and 'shirtsleeves rolled up'. A clear mandate had been given, there was fresh élan. She was confident that Europe would get closer to its citizens and that an important momentum had been set for Europe’s future.
