Haubner on EU Youth Ministers’ meeting: positive outcome

Ursula Haubner, Youth Minister and President of the Youth Council, said today that the meeting of EU Youth Ministers in Bad Ischl had produced positive results: "It is all about jobs, education and equal opportunities for our young people. More specifically, it is about the active implementation of the European Youth Pact. For young people need prospects! The Youth Event 2006 can rightly be described as a turning point in European youth policy, as for the first time young people and ministers discussed the issues together and also drew practical conclusions. Europe has a future; we are implementing our objectives with young people for young people. Bad Ischl has shown that the objectives can be achieved only if we act together. The Youth Ministers’ meeting was a success, as the initial findings from today’s evaluation sessions by the youth delegates show. The joint Bad Ischl conclusions will be direct input for the next Council meeting of Youth Ministers in May", Haubner said.
