The President of the European Council, Federal Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel, the Secretary-General of the Council, Javier Solana, and Commission President José Manuel Barroso will represent the European Union at the EU-Japan Summit in Tokyo on 24 April. Prior to the working session, Chancellor Schüssel will have a meeting with Emperor Akihito and a bilateral with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
